A time-of-day wallpaper knows what hour it is. It doesn't know that it's pouring outside your window. Chronoscape reads the current conditions for your location and picks the matching version of the scene, so a grey drizzly day looks grey on your desktop too, and clears when the sky does.

No. 24 Hour Wallpaper uses photography shot on location, which is a real strength if photographic authenticity matters to you. Chronoscape's scenes are rendered, which is what makes it practical to show the same place in every combination of light and weather rather than only the ones a photographer could capture.

Can I run Chronoscape on an older version of macOS?

Chronoscape runs on macOS 14 and later. 24 Hour Wallpaper version 7 requires macOS 15 or later, so on a Mac still running macOS 14 Chronoscape is the one that will install.
